37th Parallel North

In 1854, the United States Congress approved the Kansas-Nebraska Act which defined the 37th parallel as the border between the territory of Kansas to the north and Indian lands to the south. This line would eventually serve as the border for Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona. At five separate points in this area, three or more states meet. The 37th parallel is indifferent to the physical geography of the land; crossing mountains and rivers indiscriminately.
